Gastonia Scurry Special Utility District purchase water from North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) as a result each spring for a month NTMWD suspends the use of ammonia to allow the remaining chlorine to keep the water disenfected as it travels throughout the system. This temporary change in disenfection helps with maintaining the Districts water Quaility.
NTMWD has conducted the temporary change in disenfection for over a decade, and continues to meet and exceed the standards of a Superior Water System.
During this change you will see Gastonia Scurry Flushing to help with the introduction of treated water.
Maintenance is scheduled for March 2nd- 30th
